The Seisia Enterprises Pty Ltd is a private company registered with ASIC and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the incorporated Corporation of Seisia Community Torres Strait Islander Corporation.
The Corporation is owned by the Seisia Community and is registered under ORIC (The Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations). Nine elected directors elected from community members sit on the Corporation Board. Both entities hold Charitable status with the Australian Taxation Office.
The Corporation and the Company will use the income generated from the businesses to fund programs and developments that aim to reduce welfare dependency, create employment opportunities and accelerate community development in Seisia.
The Company began trading in earnest or in its own rights on the 1st July 2010 and leases all fixed assets from its parent organisation.
The Company has a board of currently 5 directors who meet monthly.
